Partnership Disclosure

How CompareTravel.ie works
CompareTravel.ie is an Irish-owned travel comparison website, established in 2013, and is a trading style of Magenta Online Marketing. We work with a selected group of travel providers and comparison or booking partners, and help you compare options before you continue to book directly with the provider you choose.
Our current partners and related services
Depending on which part of the site you're using, CompareTravel.ie currently works with:
- Expedia — flight search and booking
- Hotels.com — accommodation search and booking
- CarTrawler — car hire comparison and booking technology
- Compare Insurance Ireland — travel insurance quotes (a related business — see below)
- Direct Ferries — ferry crossing search and booking
- Suntransfers — airport transfer search and booking
Not every partner integration is necessarily live on every page at all times — check the relevant service page for its current status.
How the commercial relationship works
When you follow a link from CompareTravel.ie and continue to, or complete a booking with, one of our commercial travel partners — Expedia, Hotels.com, CarTrawler, Direct Ferries or Suntransfers — CompareTravel.ie may receive a commission or other commercial payment. This is how comparison websites like CompareTravel.ie are commonly funded, and it does not normally add an extra charge to the price you pay.
Compare Insurance Ireland — a related business
Compare Insurance Ireland works differently from our other partners. It is not an independent third party — it is a related website and trading name, operated under the same business as CompareTravel.ie. Compare Insurance Ireland is a trading name of Paul Hudson trading as Magenta Online Marketing, authorised and regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland under reference 117655.
When you continue from our Travel Insurance page, you move from CompareTravel.ie's travel-planning guidance to Compare Insurance Ireland's own regulated insurance quote and application journey, which operates under its own terms, policy wording and regulatory requirements.
What happens when you continue to a provider
Whether you follow a link or use a search panel on this site, continuing your search, quote or booking with a partner means that part of the journey is provided and controlled by that partner, not by CompareTravel.ie. Once you are searching, requesting a quote or booking with a provider, that provider controls:
- prices;
- availability;
- booking terms;
- payment;
- cancellations and refunds;
- customer service;
- any applicable product or booking conditions.
CompareTravel.ie does not set these, and does not take payment, manage bookings, or handle cancellations or refunds on a provider's behalf.
What we do and don't compare
CompareTravel.ie does not operate a single, universal comparison engine, and we don't necessarily compare every provider or every offer available in the market. What you see or can search for on this site depends on the commercial partners and services we currently work with. A commercial relationship with a partner is not, by itself, evidence that a provider is objectively "best," "cheapest" or superior to alternatives — we only make claims like that where we can support them.
Our editorial content
The travel guidance, comparisons and practical information on this site are intended to be genuinely useful on their own, not simply a way to route you to a partner. See our Editorial Policy for more detail on how that content and our comparisons are put together.
